Home Schooling Bodies & Education Departments

In Australia, there are some state by state home schooling bodies that are often run by experienced, volunteer, home schooling parents who are a wealth of knowledge.  They are often not-for-profit, membership based networks and can guide you on where to start in your state and country, offer a range of discounts on resources and products by being a member, insurance information (sometimes needed for running a home schooling group/co-op, excursions etc in various states), many offer home school specific magazines, can guide you on home schooling groups/co-ops that already exist, guide you on education department requirements, laws and regulations, moderators, reporting, help you understand your rights and responsibilities, curriculum requirements and so much more.

Here is a list of home schooling bodies that I know of that exist in Australia (these may exist in other countries too, an internet search should be able to help you or maybe even your education department can guide you).  This list is not necessarily exhaustive, there may be other home based learning networks in each of these Australian states, again, an internet search should help you.

Remember, home based learning networks (see below), should be able to guide you and assist you from a home education perspective, including your rights and responsibilities.  If you know of one I've not mentioned below, please contact me via my Contact Page, that would be great, thanks.
